Are Early Van Prices on the Rise ?????

There has been a lot of talk about Early Van Prices on the rise lately... Some say the day of the $500.00 early vans is gone....

We all know that when your looking for a project, you will be looking for the best sample of a shell you can find... Here on the West Coast that's a little easier than on the East Coast... After all, all that REALLY matters when your looking at a van is the Body... Because 50 years later, most everything else will need to be replaced... That's the time to decide if you will be doing a V-8 swap or what have you...

The early vans of the past have always been a great value, because you could always find a van in a field or neighbors yard that they would almost give you... With the popularity of these vans on the rise, and also high scrap metal prices of the last few years, it's not hard to figure out that the vans we all love are going away....

I know what you are thinking... Man I am getting priced out of the only thing I can afford and love, at least that's what I was thinking... With the cost of muscle cars that are completely out of sight, these vans, the few that are left, still seem to be a great value as far as I am concerned.....

Alas the $500.00 deal is dried up for the most part...  But you can still find them if your patient, and lucky....

What do you think?

  2. Well we all have seen the prices rising on the vans we love, but from what I see they are still a bargain. The old $500 van we knew and loved is now a $1500 to $2000 van.And when some of us years ago couldn't believe that someone wanted $10000 for there beautiful finished van today a finished van for that price is starting to look like a bargain !At least all the new interest in these vans will help save a bunch of them from the crusher.I think if the aftermarket industry had been making parts for these vans years ago you would have seen more interest long ago.
