Are Early Van Prices on the Rise ?????

There has been a lot of talk about Early Van Prices on the rise lately... Some say the day of the $500.00 early vans is gone....

We all know that when your looking for a project, you will be looking for the best sample of a shell you can find... Here on the West Coast that's a little easier than on the East Coast... After all, all that REALLY matters when your looking at a van is the Body... Because 50 years later, most everything else will need to be replaced... That's the time to decide if you will be doing a V-8 swap or what have you...

The early vans of the past have always been a great value, because you could always find a van in a field or neighbors yard that they would almost give you... With the popularity of these vans on the rise, and also high scrap metal prices of the last few years, it's not hard to figure out that the vans we all love are going away....

I know what you are thinking... Man I am getting priced out of the only thing I can afford and love, at least that's what I was thinking... With the cost of muscle cars that are completely out of sight, these vans, the few that are left, still seem to be a great value as far as I am concerned.....

Alas the $500.00 deal is dried up for the most part...  But you can still find them if your patient, and lucky....

What do you think?

Welcome BvrWally to the Vanner inc Magazine online party!

A retired steel worker, BvrWally is no stranger to the vanning world.
pictured here with George Barris on left

He bought his first van right out of the service and still has it!
His van has had numerous changes over the years, 5 different wheel styles, many different interiors, but still runs strong.

He is also the the designer and builder of the Famous EconoBar!
BvrWally built it as a project after he was forced into retirement.  It can also be seen in the previous post "The Ultimate Vanner Garage", yes that garage belongs to none other than BvrWally!

There is much more "vanning" in BvrWally's life, which you can read about here http://www.vintage-vans.com/BvrWally.html...

We look forward to hearing lots of good things from him, and if we are indeed lucky some day, having a cold one with him over at the EconoBar!

The Ultimate Vanner Garage!

"Warning, if you are a vanner this could cause wood :). Been fortunate to travel and visit many vanners at their homes as well as big $$$ hot rod guys' garages. Rollie's garage here is way up there in most amazing garage spaces I've seen."

The heart and soul behind Bakers of Milford, Gathering of Earlys

Back in 2005, some friends decided to get together with their early vans and meet at Bakers of Milford's Sunday Cruise event...  If I remember the story right, there were only 3 guys, 2 vans and it rained!

but it only takes a spark...

Fast forward to 2007

and things really began to snowball into something great!

The Vintage Vans were given top billing and the sweetest spot to set up at Bakers each year after that!
Behind it all is our very own Chris Hatswell, a.k.a. G-Man,
who works tirelessly year round collecting goodies for grab bags, promoting the event, having trophy plaques made up each year, and more....
Of course, every hero has a sidekick, and Billski is "Robin" to G-Man's "Batman"...

Last year, when Chris took ill, Billski took on most of the event duties, but Chris would not be held back completely.

Last year was also a record turn out with some 60+ vans!  And they come from all over the US and Canada each year now...
This year is the 9th annual Gathering of Earlys, June 23rd and ALL Vans are welcome to join in for a day of fun, friendship and a lot of really cool vans!

All because one man in particular wouldn't let a little rain ruin his day and let it stop him from having a good time with his fellow vanners....

We salute you G-Man!

Lets rebuilt vannin

Lets hear some ideas on rebuilding vannin.....

The easiest way I think is get these vans outs there to local car shows just to show we are still here. Yes still go to Vannin events, but Vannin events are just for people who are already vanners. To promote vannin we have to go places for all to see
And also .. we Got to Have a Daily Picture Post !!!!!!!!!!

Hey There ....

Who rides shotgun with you? I wanna see....

a Vanner's best friend ...

in the good times, and the hard times, they are always by your side ♥  and couldn't care less, as long as they are with you, if you are rich or poor!

Welcome!

We have begun a new adventure and hope you come along with us!  We don't care if you are a new vanner, or if you have been a vanner since before many of us were born...  Hell, we don't even care if you don't currently have a van!

Let's see where this takes us...

If you would like to be a contributing author, pop me an email and I'll see what it takes to get you added on...  this is new to me too, so there may be some head scratching involved at first...

So sit back, crack a cold one, and let your imagination run wild!
